While working on Word we often face a problem. Many times we want to send a proposal to a new customer. We remember that we have already sent a similar proposal to an existing customer. We open the original file, save it as a new file and search replace the name of the customer. Sometimes the name of the old customer remains and that can create a lot of trouble for you. Here is a brilliant way of using a very nice feature of Word called Fields, so that you never have that particular problem. Instead of manually typing the name of the customer every time what you should do is create a field. Open File menu - Info - Properties - Advanced Properties - the last tab allows you to create custom fields. Im going to create the field called customer name and type the name of one of the customers and just click add. Assume this was your sales proposal. Anytime you need the name of the customer go to this Insert - Quick Parts - Fields. There are a lot of fields, dont get worried. Choose one of

Xcode displays the results of the search, but it doesnt automatically replace the text. To replace the text for a single result, select it and click the Replace button. To replace the text for all results, click Replace All.

The way edit all in scope works is you select the word that you would like to replace and press ^⌘E. This will highlight all the occurrences of your selected word in the current file. Any changes you make to the word will automatically be reflected in all occurrences of that word.

In Xcode ⌘F hides the Find and Replace section of the dialog and only displays the Find part. In TextEdit, ⌘F sets the focus (which means your text marker is in the box) in the Find textbox. ⌘⌥F sets the focus in the Find and Replace textbox. Pressing ⌘⌥F followed by ⌘F keeps the entire dialog open.
Press Option-Command-F to bring up the find/replace box. Enter the search and replace string. Changing the search string will lose any existing selection, so.. Hold down the key and Replace All will change to Replace Selection, then click it.
