The QR code within a signature can contain information, such as contact details, marketing invites, and promotional offers to name a few. Once the recipient scans the QR code with their mobile phone, the information is quickly decoded and saved (in their mobile phone). Pre-requisites.
Heres how: Download the Google Chrome app from the App Store. Note: You cant create QR Codes from the Google search app, only the Chrome app. Navigate to the URL you want to share. Tap the Share button on the upper right-hand corner. Select Create QR Code. Either hold it up for someone to scan or tap Share.
How to scan a QR Code in an email? Launch the Google Lens app on your smartphone. Go to your gallery and select the image of the QR Code. Scan the QR Code. A prefilled email template will open on your mobile, which you can modify, or hit send directly.
Adding a QR Code to your Gmail signature is fairly simple. Log in to your Gmail account and click on settings. Scroll down to the Signature section. Click on Insert image and add your QR Code in image format. Save settings and test the QR Code.
One reason that the QR may not be appearing is that there is a broken image source. To determine if this is the cause, youll want to copy the URL of the QR code by right-clicking on the QR code image in the email. Then paste that URL into your browser to see if the image works. If not, the source link is broken.
This is because the original data/information in the QR code is digitally signed.
To insert QR codes and bar codes into emails, you use an HTML tag that requests a QR code or bar code image from a generation and rendering service.
