You cant change the fields type (for example, making a single-select field into a multi-select field). To change a fields type, recreate the field using the desired type. Jira allows you to define a description of a custom field.
You need to be a Jira administrator to create a new custom field.Add a new custom field for approvals Go to Settings ( ) Issues. Select Custom fields Create custom field. Select Advanced. Select Next. Name your field, and add a description if desired. Select Create.
Pending reason is a custom field. So you can alter the options by log in as admin, go to Jira Settings, go to Custom Fields and search for the Pending Reason custom field. Click the three dots and choose Configure. There you have option to Edit Options.
