Welcome to Qt Widgets and More. In this episode, we are going to see the number one most hidden feature in Qt Designer, namely how to hook up a bunch of radio buttons into a button group. Ive created a very simple user interface in Qt Designer here. I have a button group here with Choose one good thing, A hug, A song by Depeche Mode, or Watching QWAM QWAM? Qt Widgets and More! Come on -- It sounds like one of those cartoons from the 80s where the bad guy and the good guy they fight, and its like, QWAM! Am I getting beside the point? Okay, nevermind. Lets review this inside my Qt Creator, and you can see they work pretty well. So far, so good. Next, section is choose two, not just one, bad things. Answering emails all day long? COVID-19? Theres good things to say about that but, nevertheless, listening to me for more than -- and you can specify the length here if you want to. See its even. Well, its even when this is enabled. All you need is to first get the RadioGroup via findViewById(R. id. myRadioGroup) and then iterate through its children. Youll know as you iterate through which button you are on, and you can simply use RadioButton.
To label a radio button, add a element after the element and insert a for attribute with the same value as the id of the associated element.
Once a radio button is checked, it cannot be marked as unchecked by user. RadioButton is generally used with RadioGroup. RadioGroup contains several radio buttons, marking one radio button as checked makes all other radio buttons as unchecked.
Radio buttons allow a user to select a single option among multiple options. You can set the Choice Value of each option, for each button, as well as group these buttons by giving them the same Group Name. Radio buttons have Default styling.
We recommend using the RadioButtons control to group RadioButton elements. Radio buttons work in groups.
The ButtonGroup class creates a group in which you can add radio buttons. Of course, only one radio button in a button group can be selected at any time. Thus, selecting a radio button in a button group automatically deselects any other buttons in the group.
We can put different radio buttons in a group using the name attribute. All the buttons in a group must have the same name attribute.
A RadioGroup class is used for set of radio buttons. If we check one radio button that belongs to a radio group, it automatically unchecks any previously checked radio button within the same group.
Radio buttons, also called option buttons, let users select one option from a collection of two or more mutually exclusive, but related, options. Radio buttons are always used in groups, and each option is represented by one radio button in the group.
Radio buttons are arranged in groups of two or more and displayed on screen as, for example, a list of circular holes that can contain white space (for unselected) or a dot (for selected). Each radio button is normally accompanied by a label describing the choice that the radio button represents.
