Below are some common questions from our customers that may provide you with the answer you're looking for. If you can't find an answer to your question, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

No Page Numbers If the source is short, count paragraphs from the top of the document and include the paragraph number in the in-text citation. If the source is long and has section headings, you can include the section heading in lieu of the paragraph number.
If you are quoting directly the page number should be included, if given. If you are paraphrasing the page number is not required.
Sources Without Page Numbers When an electronic source lacks page numbers, you should try to include information that will help readers find the passage being cited. Use the heading or section name, an abbreviated heading or section name, a paragraph number (para. 1), or a combination of these.
MLA in-text citation style uses the authors last name and the page number from which the quotation or paraphrase is taken, for example: (Smith 163). If the source does not use page numbers, do not include a number in the parenthetical citation: (Smith).
No Page Numbers (Internet Resources) [6.05] Use the author or authors surname(s), the date of publication, paragraph number. If no author is given, use the title of the document or headings. Do not include initials or full names of the author or authors first name(s)
1. Click the Insert tab in the top menu. 3. Select Page Number, then choose Plain Number 3 from the options.
If there are no page numbers given: Indicate the paragraph number instead of the page number with the word para. before it. For example: (Smith, 2012, para. 3)
If you do have to add page numbers to the reference, here are a few tips to follow: Use p. nn to cite a single page. Use pp. nnnn to cite a range of pages. Print sources: place page numbers at the end of the citation for print sources. Online sources: place the page numbers before the URL or DOI.
