okay Im about to put in some page numbers on a report that I have here and in order to check to see what the page numbers are doing right now Im just going to start with section tube here and just to see what happens I go over to the word page number while Im in the header and footer tools and I go down to the words current position and I click on one when I do this I see that I have a zero on the table of contents page and I have a zero and another zero and then I go to two and in any case all of the numbers arent working so what do I need to do well the first thing I want to do is I want to get rid of that page number because it actually doesnt work and then I have to take a look at my headers right now the first thing you wanted to determine is whether your headers are actually set up correctly and I can tell right away that in fact my headers are not how do I know that when I click on my very first page that is the cover of my report it says over here first page header section

In Document Setup, use two fingers to zoom, then tap the header or footer field where you want the page number to appear. Tap Page Numbers, then tap a numbering style. , then make any adjustments.
What to Know To reset page numbers, go to Insert Page Number Remove Page Numbers. Do this for each section. To adjust page numbering, go to Insert Page Number Format Page Numbers. Insert page numbers into a report Open the report in Design view or Layout view. On the Design tab, in the Header / Footer group, click Page Numbers. Choose the format, position, and alignment that you want for the page numbers. Clear the Show Number on First Page check box if you do not want a number on the first page.
If you double-click on the header to open it, click on the page number to activate it, then click on the hatched border, you should see corner and side selection squares light up on the frame. Then you can drag the frame to wherever you need it.
All page numbers should be the same font and size as your body text. Lower-case Roman numerals should be used for all preliminary pages, starting with ii on the page that appears after the title page. The title page is assumed to be the first page, but remains unnumbered.
