hi Im Mitch Im with the Montgomery County Board of developmental disabilities services Im here to talk to you today about fixing the waiver waiting list thats right the waiting lists for people with disabilities isnt working some people get on the list and they just sit there for years and years waiting for services other people are on the list who dont really have a need and just kind of clogs up the whole system so the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is changing the way the list works starting September 1st 2018 its all going to change thats because people with disabilities their families advocates have said to the state its not working something different needs to be done now this may sound scary or a little confusing but dont worry the goal the new system is to make things better and help people with developmental disabilities get their needs met now heres how its going to work the lists will only be used for people with immediate and current needs that me

212(e) Waiver If the waiver is pending with USCIS or approved, the J-1 Visiting Student will not be eligible for a program extension even if they have not yet docHubed the five-year program duration maximum.
If your J-1 spouse or parent receives a favorable recommendation from the Department of States Waiver Review Division, it will be forwarded to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). If USCIS grants the waiver to your J-1 spouse or parent, then you will also benefit from that waiver.
If you have started the J waiver process do not travel outside the U.S. while the waiver is pending or after the waiver is approved. International travel will negatively impact the waiver.
