If you need assistance obtaining your military records, then contact any County Veteran Service Officer (CVSO). To obtain your DD-214 on your own, submit your request via the National Archives and Records Administration webpage or call 314-801-0800.
Once Ive signed in to milConnect, how do I request my DD214 or other military records? From your signed-in homepage, click or tap on Correspondence/ Documentation. Choose the Personnel File tab. Select Request My Personnel File. Fill out the form. Click or tap on the Create and Send Request button.
There are multiple ways to obtain your DD Form 214. You can visit the VA/DoD eBenefits site or log into myPers and create a request. You may also visit the National Personnel Records Center website or contact the Total Force Service Center at 800-525-0102.
When do I get my DD214? The DD214 is usually issued at the final outprocessing appointment prior to retirement or separation.
Requesting your Documents DD-214s can be requested either on-line or by mail. You will receive your DD-214 from the Archives in about about three to four weeks.
The report of separation form issued in most recent years is the DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.
You can request a copy of the Veterans military records in any of these ways: Mail or fax a Request Pertaining to Military Records (Standard Form SF 180) to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). Write a letter to the NPRC. Visit the NPRC in person. Contact your state or county Veterans agency.
Response times for records requests vary and depend on records availability and workload. AFPC strives to meet a five-day turnaround while requests to NPRC can take 90 days or more. An Air Force veterans separation or retirement date determines to which agency they make the request.
