Lance recommends ProFlex sealant and that is what I recently used after replacing the tungsten lamps on the campers running lights. I box cutter blade can be used to sever the old sealant enough to pry off the plastic covers.
Anything up high is a clearance light. Anything lower are marker lights. I think the important takeaway is, if its a light and not a reflector, its needs to illuminate. If it doesnt illuminate, get it fixed.
If youre looking to update your RV interior light fixtures, you might be happy to learn that you can use essentially any fixture youd like, as long as you have the correct light bulb. If you have a 120v light, you can use any fixture if youre using a 120v light bulb, and same for 12v lights.

Disconnect 7-way cord from tow vehicle. With a razor knife, cut the sealant around the clearance light. Remove lens cover. Remove screws and pull light from wall. Pull wire connections out of the wall and cut wires. Clean area with adhesive remover and then prep with Isopropyl alcohol.
Virtually any light fixture can go into an RV. You just need to know what kind of bulb is compatible with your rig (12V, etc).
Be sure to include at least the following information in your trailer bill of sale: Names and contact information for both the buyer and seller. Trailer information, including VIN, make, model, and year. Price of the trailer. Conditions of the sale, including as is status or any warranties.
Pry the old fixture away from the wall of the RV (TIP: Applying heating the sealant/caulk around the old fixture makes it easier to remove) Remove any existing sealant using a scraper, a towel and some WD-40 or mineral spirits. Cut the two wires connecting the light fixture and remove the old fixture.
