Filing these articles is one of the initial steps you need to take with your state to officially notify them of your company's formation. The terminology may vary by state, but the function remains consistent. Additionally, Ayers emphasizes the importance of obtaining an Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS, a process that has been simplified and can now be done directly through the IRS website, eliminating the need for intermediaries like accountants or attorneys in many cases.
