Definitions. Legal name: The name as it appears on a legal document such as a Social Security card or other document in which a legal name change is recorded (e.g. court order). Preferred name: The name a person wishes to be known and have appear in the University systems.
It is perfectly fine to include your preferred name and pronouns on a resume. A resume is not a legal-standing document by any means. The only legal matter you should be concerned about is using your legal name, if different from your preferred name, during the application process for background checks.

1. Dont use a nickname on your resume. Include only your legal name, of course that may be your middle name with a first initial, which is completely acceptable as long as that is your business name.

Usually, an employees general work records can be changed to reflect their preferred or chosen name. But know that some documents still require a legal name. For example, Form W-2 by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires a legal name.
You should include your full name (first and last) at the top of your resume. A resume is not a legal document, so it is acceptable to use your preferred name on your resume. You will use your legal name for other official documents during the hiring process, such as background checks and insurance forms.
