Go to File Options Proofing and select AutoCorrect Options. On the AutoCorrect tab, select or clear Replace text as you type.
Have you made a selection of text? If so, the replace operation will work only within that selection. Have you cleared the formatting? (Unless the formatting is necessary for what you are trying to do.) Is Track Changes turned on? (Some functions using wildcards dont work as expected if Track Changes is on.)
The first step is to open Microsoft word, and Click Review at the top of the page. Click Editor dropdown. Click Auto Correct Options in the dropdown. Click Replace text as you type checkbox to turn it on.
The Open and Repair command might be able to recover your file. Click File Open Browse and then go to the location or folder where the document (Word), workbook (Excel), or presentation (PowerPoint) is stored. Click the file you want, and then click the arrow next to Open, and click Open and Repair.
Try it! Select Replace or press Ctrl + H. In the Find what box, type the text you want to search for. Select Find Next to see where the text appears in your file. In the Replace with box, type the text you want. Select Replace to change the text or select Replace All to change all instances of this text in your file.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Quick Parts, and then click Save Selection to Quick Part Gallery, change the name and add a description if you like, and click OK.
