Average cost of printing a paper in India is around Rs 0.8 to Rs 1.5 for the printer targeted for homes. CCP for commercial printers is much cheaper but these devices are also 5-6 times expensive.
With a cheap printer (under $200), the average cost per page using black ink is 5.5 cents and the average cost per page in color is 8.9 cents. However, a more expensive printer (more than $200) typically yields lower costs per page 3.9 cents using black ink and 8.3 cents using color ink.
Those photo shops were the last local options for printer ink refill services. A year ago, Walgreens also discontinued printer recharge service. However, you can still refill your own inkjet printer cartridges by buying a refill kit online or at an office supply store.
Cost per print varies between printer brands and models. In general, inkjet printers have a higher average cost per page of about 20-cents for a colored print, and 7.5-cents for black and white. If youre buying a new inkjet printer, stick with one that uses separate ink cartridges for each color.
On average, you can expect to pay around $30-40 for an ink cartridge. So, depending on how many times youll need to replace these throughout the year, you can see why professional printing could cost a few hundred more dollars a year than personal printing.
Is it actually cheaper to buy a new printer rather than replacing ink cartridges? Are printers cheaper than print cartridges in many cases? Spoiler alert - yes. Even the cheapest ink cartridge is comparable to the cheapest printer, price-wise.
On average, 1 ml of ink will equate 1 square foot of printing with average coverage. Therefore, 9 ml cartridges (4-color) should yield 36 square feet of printing. 30 ml cartridges (4-color) should yield about 120 square feet of printing.
Printer ink cartridge prices can swing a bit based on factors like brand, type, and cartridge size. On average, youll find black ink cartridges ranging from $20 to $50, and their colorful counterparts hovering between $30 and $60.
