so lets say youve come to the end of your lease or you have a lease thats month to month and you decide man Id really like to be able to raise the rent but I cant convince my tenant to sign a new lease with me well especially in the state of Texas and it may be true in most other states all thats required is you send a 30-day notice to your tenant and you can raise the rent if your rent needs to go up a couple hundred dollars and youre not sure that your tenant will sign a new lease you can keep them as a month-to-month tenant so long as you send at least a 30-day notice your lease might require longer but if you send a 30-day notice of rent increase to the month following those 30 days once the 30 days have expired that next month youre entitled to that higher rent
