Yes, color in resume boosts your chances of getting the attention of recruiters. However, just like the types of resume, the choice of colors also needs to be aligned with your field. That being said; make sure that you use colors that are acceptable in your industry and the most suitable for your job application.
Do you have to use resume paper? Though you dont absolutely need to use resume paper, it offers some advantages: Better printing quality. The extra thickness of resume paper means that you can expect fewer ink bleeds and smudges and an overall better printing quality compared to standard printing paper.
So while Rizzo does not believe in the future of the classic, traditional resume, he does think some form of document or profile that loosely resembles one will stick around. Meanwhile, ZipRecruiters Pollak is not anticipating the end of a high quality resume. A perfect resume wont become obsolete.
Resumes should follow a standard format including black and white printing. The only exception would be for especially creative, artistic opportunities. Resumes printed in color for most non-creative opportunities take a risk of being discarded.

Some printers use metal pins in the ink cartridge holder to connect them to the printer. Check the metal pins to ensure they are not bent or otherwise damaged.
Believe it or not, the paper you choose can leave the recruiter thinking youre professional or laxed, meticulous or unfocused, thorough or thoughtless. Resumes get noticed by impression the paper you choose is another part of that impression mark.
If the employer asks for a physical copy Some employers want you to mail them a printed copy of the resume and will list their mailing address. If you have a physical interview It is customary to take a few printed copies of your resume when you attend an in-person interview.
If you plan to print your resume on anything other than printing paper, your best option will be resume paper. Cardstock is thicker than resume paper and is often brightly colored, two factors that can affect presentation and readability if you are delivering your resume in person.
