Verify the toner cartridge is installed correctly. If you a new toner cartridge but the Toner Low, Replace Toner or Toner Ended error indication remains, the toner cartridge may not be installed correctly. Reinstall the toner cartridge, referring to the instructions on how to replace the toner cartridge.
You can click on the EPSON Status Monitor to check which cartridge is low or empty. To check your ink supply, do one of the following: Windows: Double-click the printer icon on your taskbar (in the lower right corner of your screen).
Open the printer software, click the Utility tab, then click the EPSON Status Monitor 3 button. A graphic display showing the amount of ink remaining appears.
Your new ink cartridge not working can be due to the following: Expired cartridges. Firmware has been updated. Wrong cartridge model installed. The protective tape was not removed. Incorrect position or color slot of installed cartridges. The contacts in your printer or cartridge are damaged or dirty.
On the printer, just click the ink or ink management key to find an option for ink volume. Access the ink status from a PC with the Status Monitor Utility. The quickest way to do this is to double-click the printer icon in the task tray on your desktop. This will bring up the inks colour levels.
If youre printing from your computer, youll see a message telling you which cartridge is low or empty. Click the How to button to see instructions for replacing the cartridge. When a cartridge is more than six months old, you may need to replace it if printouts dont look their best.
Using the printers control panel The printers indicator lights will inform you when it is time to obtain a replacement ink cartridge and when it is time to replace an empty cartridge.
Perform a head cleaning on the printer if the option is available. Also, run a general printer cleaning cycle to clean other dirty and clogged areas. Some printers use metal pins in the ink cartridge holder to connect them to the printer. Check the metal pins to ensure they are not bent or otherwise damaged.
