This video shows how to format the header for an APA style paper. So step one, double click in the header area, and then select Header and Footer in the ribbon at the top. Youll select Different First Page, up there we type running head: (colon). Then we want the first chunk of our title, kind of a short name for it. copy that and paste it up here. Now remember the running head should be all capitals, so well change the format to Uppercase. We also want a page number so we select insert page numbers on the right. Okay so page one is good. Now for subsequent pages we also need the running header in capitals, Format, Change Case, Uppercase, and the page number. Theres page one with our running head page 2, page 3, looking good.

1) Go to the first page of your Document. 2) Select the INSERT Ribbon. 3) Click on Header, Click Edit Header. 4) Checkmark the box Different First Page.
Tap More Options at the bottom of the controls. In More Options view, tap in any of the three fields for the header or footer (you can use any combination of the fields). Do any of the following: Add text: Type the header or footer text, or select text that you want to edit.
Add and remove headers and footers in Pages on Mac Click in a page where you want to add headers and footers. Move the pointer over the top or bottom of the page until you see the three header or footer fields, then click one (you can use any combination of fields to complete your header or footer).
Open a long document in Word on your mobile device. Tap the 3 vertical dots in the upper-right side of the menu bar to open the More Options menu. Tap Document Headings. In the Headings pane, scroll through the list to access different sections of your document.
Avoid having only one subsection heading within a section, just like in an outline. Do not label headings with numbers or letters. Double-space headings; do not switch to single spacing within headings. Do not add blank lines above or below headings, even if a heading falls at the end of a page.
On your second page, visit the Section tab of the Documents panel, and deselect Match previous section. That will suppress any first page header/footer from appearing on subsequent pages. Thank you so much VikingOSX for your kind help!
Create different headers or footers Double-click the header or footer. Select Different Odd Even Pages. On one of the odd pages, select the header or footer area you want to change. Type the document title, and then press Tab twice. Select Page Number Current Position and choose a style. Select an even page.
Change or delete the header or footer from the first page Double-click the first page header or footer area. Check Different First Page to see if its selected. If not: Select Different First Page. Add your new content into the header or footer. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
