first we need to remove the flags from the pole as you can see remove them from the snap hooks and then the snap hooks need to be removed from the pole and to do that the snap hook has a loop that goes into it and around the actual stamp hook and to remove it press through the loop and the tellyard will slide right out of the stamp hook and remove the snap hook and save it for the new halyard which is the rope secondly what im about to do is to connect the new rope to the old rope and to do that i want to make sure that i secure both ends of the rope to the cleat just to make sure that one of the ends doesnt run up the pole and butting together the old rope to the new rope what im going to do is take like a 26 gauge or 20 gauge wire and im going to wrap it about a foot in circular motion around the rope of the existing rope and then circular motion around the new rope so this gives it extra security when it goes up through the pulley and then after its its butted up together and
