Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can create your very own fillable form using Microsoft Word. First off, what is a fillable form? You can have people go in and fill out a form, but they wont be able to edit the questions or the structure of the form. You can use things like check boxes, text fields, drop down lists, date pickers, to build your form. Once someones finished completing your form, they can e-mail it back, they could print it out, or you could even connect it to a database. Connecting to a database is outside of the scope of todays tutorial. Its kind of like an docHub PDF form, but its Microsofts version of it. Ive included sample files today if you want to follow along, otherwise lets jump on the PC and lets get started. Cause. This problem occurs because, when you create a cross-reference link, a hidden bookmark is created at the beginning of the heading. When you split the heading, the bookmark does not move.
Update all fields in a document Press Ctrl + A. Press F9. If your document has tables with fields or formulas, you might need to select each table separately and press F9.
To update an individual field, click on it and press F9 or right-click and select Update Field. To update all references in a document, press Ctrl + A, then press F9.
You can update cross-references manually by pressing Ctrl + A to select all and then pressing F9. Cross-references will also be updated when you switch to Print Preview or when you print (if the Word option Update fields before printing is turned on).
Display the Developer tab of the ribbon. In the Controls group click Legacy Tools and then click the Text Form Field tool. A field indicator appears in the document. Right-click the form field just entered and choose Properties from the resulting Context menu.
Updating cross-references You can update cross-references manually by pressing Ctrl + A to select all and then pressing F9. Cross-references will also be updated when you switch to Print Preview or when you print (if the Word option Update fields before printing is turned on).
Press CTRL+SHIFT+F9 on your keyboard. This will remove the field codes, replacing them with the text they contained.
Go to References Update Table. Select one of the following: Update page numbers only This only updates the pages that the headings are on, and ignores any changes to the heading text. Update entire table This will reflect any updates to the heading text, as well as any page changes.
