The CAGE/NCAGE Code and the Unique Entity ID The CAGE code will still be used and available on SAM.gov registration records. The change to the Unique Entity ID (SAM) does not impact the CAGE/NCAGE code.
Log into your account on the SAM homepage. Once logged in, select Entity Registrations from the My SAM sub-navigation menu to create, update, renew, or deactivate your entity registration.
It is highly recommended that businesses renew their SAM registration at least two months prior to their expiration date. In fact, if a business loses registration during ongoing contract work, the government is no longer authorized to work with that business. This could drastically affect a business well-being.
Once you enter all the information required, review it, and submit it, your registration enters the submitted status. While the average overall processing time is up to three business days, external reviews can take up to ten business days.
It can take 1-2 business days before your DUNS Number is issued. When you are assigned your DUNS Number, return to SAM.gov and follow the steps outlined under the Your entity has a DUNS Number and is not registered in SAM.gov section of this guide.
Note that after submitting your renewal, validations by CAGE and the IRS can take 7-12 business days.

How do I update my legal business name and physical address at SAM.gov? From the Entities Workspace, select the three dots on the entity you want to update, then choose Update. When you update your registration, you will also need to go through the other sections of registration and confirm your information.
