Go to Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box, and then change your list items as needed.
Remove data validation - Select the cell or cells that contain the validation you want to delete, then go to Data Data Validation and in the data validation dialog press the Clear All button, then click OK.
The worksheet might be protected or shared - You cannot change data validation settings if your workbook is shared or protected. Youll need to unshare or unprotect your workbook first.
Instead of using data validation, you could use a Form Control Combo Box. It gives you a bit more control over the appearance of the drop down list. You can adjust the number of drop down lines in the Form Control Combo box, so you can show all 12 months, without a scroll bar.
To change an Excel validation rule, perform these steps: Select any of the validated cells. Open the Data Validation dialog box (Data tab Data Validation). Make the required changes.
If you set the data validation rule after you have entered the data, then the rule doesnt apply. In the example above, setting the rule after the data is already entered will not cause a data validation error. Make sure your cells are empty, and then set the rule before typing in any data.
Re: Data validation range based on another cell contents On the Data tab of the ribbon, click Data Validation. Select Decimal from the Allow drop down, and between from the Data drop down. If desired, activate the Input Message and Error Alert tabs and enter appropriate messages. Finally, click OK.
Go to Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box, and then change your list items as needed.
