Select a field in the Values area for which you want to change the summary function of the PivotTable report. If you have multiple fields in the Values area, double-click the heading for any value field. Choose any number in the Values area and click the Field Settings button in the PivotTable Analyze tab of the ribbon. In the PivotTable Fields list, open the drop-down menu for any item in the Values area.
In the PivotTable, right-click the value field you want to change, and then click Summarize Values By. Click the summary function you want. Note: Summary functions arent available in PivotTables that are based on Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) source data. The sum of the values.
