Can you use for a wet signature? eSignature is primarily used to manage electronic and digital signatures in the cloud. However, you can also use it to help accelerate the collection and management of wet signatures.
Signatures on Forms and Returns The IRS announced late last year that it was extending the use of e-signatures for the relevant forms through October 31, 2023.
However, the form must still be signed; typed names and electronic signatures will not be accepted. NVC will ask petitioners to submit an amended Form I-864 if the financial sponsors name and personal information are missing, if there is no signature at all, or if pages are missing.
How does the e-signature option work? Taxpayers, who currently use Forms 8878 or 8879 to sign electronic Forms 1040 federal tax returns or filing extensions, can use an e-signature to sign and electronically submit these forms to their Electronic Return Originator (ERO).
