How to edit drop down list in Excel Select the cell(s) containing the drop-down list. On the Data tab, in the Data Tools group, click Data Validation. This will open the Data Validation dialog box. In the Source box, change, add or remove comma-separated items. Click OK to save the changes.
To create a custom list: Go to Customization Lists, Records, Fields Lists New. In the Name field, enter a name for the list. In the ID field, enter a unique alphanumeric ID for the custom list. Select the owner of the custom list. Enter a description of the custom list.
To add a drop-down list to a Word document, go to Options Customize Ribbon and enable the Developer tab. Open the Developer tab and click the Drop-Down List Content Control button to insert a drop-down button. You can customize the drop-down box by clicking Properties.
Complete the following: In the Filter Using column, select one of the controlling fields. In the Compare Type field, select the qualifier you want to use to determine the filtering. In the Compare To column, select the field on your custom record type that refers to the field you selected in the Filter Using column.
Make sure Manager (Text1) is selected. In the Custom attributes section, click the Lookup button, which pops up the Edit Lookup Table for Manager dialog box. Under Value, type the items you want to appear in your drop-down list (one item per line), then click the Close button. Click OK.
To create a custom field: Go to Customization Lists, Records, Fields [Custom Field] New, where [Custom Field] is the required field type. In the Label field, enter a name or description for the field that is meaningful to your users. In the ID field, enter a unique alphanumeric ID for the field.
