Definition and Usage. The replaceFirst() method replaces the first match of a regular expression in a string with a new substring. Replacement strings may contain a backreference in the form $n where n is the index of a group in the pattern.
Replace Occurrences of Substrings in Strings in Python The replace() method is a commonly used way to find and replace a string in Python. by default, replaces() method finds and replaces all occurrences of a string. You can use concatenation and slicing to replace only the first occurrence.
You can achieve this with the help of CONCAT() along with REPLACE() function. To find the first occurrences you need to use INSTR() function.
The replace() method of String values returns a new string with one, some, or all matches of a pattern replaced by a replacement . The pattern can be a string or a RegExp , and the replacement can be a string or a function called for each match. If pattern is a string, only the first occurrence will be replaced.
Find and replace basic text , type the word or phrase that you want to find, and Word will highlight all instances of the word or phrase throughout the document. To replace found text: Select the magnifying glass, and then select Replace. In the Replace With box, type the replacement text.
Replace text or numbers with the Find Replace Press Ctrl+H or go to Home Find Select Replace. In Find what, type the text or numbers you want to find. You can further define your search: In the Replace with box, enter the text or numbers you want to use to replace the search text. Select Replace or Replace All.

You can use replaceFirst() method. Or. you can use indexOf() to find first occurrence of character and then use setCharAt() of StringBuilder. Or. you can use substring() along with indexOf()
The basic syntax of replace in SQL is: REPLACE(String, Oldsubstring, Newsubstring); In the syntax above: String: It is the expression or the string on which you want the replace() function to operate.
Find the index of the first occurrence of the string that is to be replaced. Get everything to the left of that, not including the index itself (thus -1). Concatenate that with whatever you are replacing the original string with. Calculate the ending index of the part of the string that is being replaced.
