Currently, appeals hearings are being scheduled two to three months from the date we receive your appeal.
Claimants and employers can appeal a determination of eligibility by requesting a hearing before a UC Appeals Referee no later than 21 calendar days after the determination date provided on the notice of determination. File an appeal online. File an appeal by mail, fax, or at a PA Careerlink.
Check the Status of Your Appeal Within two to three weeks after submitting an appeal, you can go online to view the status of any appeal in which you are involved. You will need to have or create a login for the Unemployment Benefits Services site.
If you are approved for benefits, your former employer may appeal within the same fifteen-day period. If either party appeals, the Georgia Department of Labor will typically schedule a telephone hearing within two to three weeks.
Appeals filed by mail should include the claimants Social Security number, refer to the specific determination that is being appealed, and give the grounds for the appeal. You must respond to the department within 10 calendar days of receiving the notification in order to prevent a former employee from wrongfully receiving UI benefits.
How long does the appeals process take? It could take 60-120 days from the date you send in your appeal request to receive a decision on your appeal.
The maximum benefit amount includes up to 20 weeks of benefits. The WBA and the MBA are calculated only from wages earned from an employer covered by the South Carolina Code of Laws, Title 41 as base-period wages. Please note, you are responsible for paying income taxes on all unemployment benefits received.
