Edit or update a date field To edit the date, click the gray box, type a new date, and then click outside the box. To change the date back to the current date, click the date field and click Update.
When you have a date in a cell, you can display with different format as it has been seen on this date format page. In this situation, the only way to keep the date format, is to use the function TEXT.
To apply the formatting, you simply go to the Home tab Conditional Formatting Highlight Cell Rules and select A Date Occurring. Select one of the date options from the drop-down list in the left-hand part of the window, ranging from last month to next month.
Press the Ctrl + H keys on your keyboard to open the Find and Replace dialog box. In the Find what field, enter the date that you want to replace. In the Replace with field, enter the new date. Click on the Replace All button.
Restrict data entry to a date within range of dates. Follow steps 1-2 above. In the Allow box, select Date. In the Data box, select the type of restriction that you want. For example, to allow dates after a certain day, select greater than. Enter the start, end, or specific date to allow.
Select all of the dates you want to convert and press Ctrl+C to copy them. Open Notepad or any other text editor, and paste the copied dates there. Notepad automatically converts the dates to the text format. Press Ctrl+A to select all text strings, and then Ctrl+C to copy them.
How To Convert Date To Text In Excel Using Formula? First we will select the cell containing numeric date. In this case we will select cell A2. Then we will add the formula=TEXT(A1,mm/dd/yyyy)in the formula tab. After that we will press enter key which will result in change of numeric date to text in the selected text.
If you want a quick way to prevent the formatting change in simple worksheets, follow these steps: Display the Excel Options dialog box. At the left side of the dialog box click Advanced.
