Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can both get and use the brand new Microsoft Lists. Its now generally available and you can start taking advantage of it. And although its generally available, there are still many features rolling out, but thats a typical web product where over time, more and more value will be landing. First off, what is Microsoft Lists and what makes it unique? Well, just like the name implies, Microsoft Lists allows you to create lists to organize information. With those lists, you can share it with others and you can collaborate with others on those lists. Now, so far, that sounds like everything that you could do in a spreadsheet with a list. Whats unique about Microsoft Lists? Well, a few things. First off, you can visualize your data in many different ways. Once you get your data into a list, you could view it in a standard grid format, just like in Microsoft Excel. You could also view it in a card form

Date fields are very important in any data set and in the analysis as without date values like a year, month, week, quarter, etc, we will not have time references in our data. Thus, with the help of date functions in Tableau, we can create date fields and perform complex operations on the date fields.
Open the workbook that contains the dashboard in Tableau Desktop, and then navigate to the sheet for which you want to display the time of the last data refresh. Select Worksheet Show Caption. Double-click the caption. In the Edit Caption dialog box, select Insert Data Update Time, and then click OK.
To bring up the Calculated Field window, right-click anywhere in the Data window (i.e. sidebar) to bring up that menu. Then, select Create Calculated Field If you right-clicked on a particular dimension or measure to create your calculation, then it will appear in the Calculated Field window in the formula text area.
Right-click (control-click on Mac) a date field in the Data pane and select Create Create Custom Date. From the Detail list, select the level you want. Specify whether you want the custom date to be discrete (Date Parts) or continuous (Date Value). Optional: Enter your own name for the field.
Choose from a list of date formats Select the cells you want to format. Press Control+1 or Command+1. In the Format Cells box, click the Number tab. In the Category list, click Date. Under Type, pick a date format.
To format a date field in the Data pane, right-click the field and choose Default Properties Date Format. The date formats in the table are supported when your workbook is connected to a Tableau extract or has a live connection to a data source that also supports the date format.
How to change date format in Excel Select the dates whose format your want to change, or empty cells where you want to insert dates. Press Ctrl+1 to open the Format Cells dialog. In the Format Cells window, switch to the Number tab, and select Date in the Category list. Under Type, pick a desired date format.
Right-click the field in the view for which you want to set a date format. Choose Format. In the Format pane, from the Dates drop-down list, select a format.
