how to return the current date and time inside of power query so we come up here to add column and hit custom column and we type in here we need to think about a couple things the first is we want to start with date time we want that to be a capital d and a capital t and were going to do dot local now and we want to make sure at the end of local now we put empty parentheses hit ok that gives us the current date and the current time and if we wanted to just narrow that down to just a date or just a time come back into this window here and we would say for the date were going to say date time again capital d capital t dot date encompass that in the parentheses and that gives us the date and then if we want to change this to just the time go up here and change that date to time and now if we refresh this we can see that it will change to the current time

The default date format is specified in the Control Panel of the system. However, it is possible to change these default settings. For example, the date 01/01/2021 corresponds to the format dd/mm/yyyy. If the format is changed to d-mmm-yyyy, the date becomes 1-Jan-2021.
Replace values (Power Query) To open a query, locate one previously loaded from the Power Query Editor, select a cell in the data, and then select Query Edit. Select a column with a text data type. Select Home or Transform Replace Value. In the Value To Find box, enter the value to search.
This problem is caused by the dates and times being stored as text values. The solution is to use Text to Columns to convert the dates and times to numeric values. You will then be able to apply date and time formats in the normal way.
For this, simply pick Date in the Number Format box on the Home tab. To apply a format other than default, then select the cells with serial numbers and press Ctrl+1 to open the Format Cells dialog. On the Number tab, choose Date, select the desired date format under Type and click OK. Yep, its that easy!
How to Change The Excel Date Format Select the cells you want to format. Click Ctrl+1 or Command+1. Select the Numbers tab. From the categories, choose Date From the Type menu, select the date format you want.
You will need to change the number format (Format Cells) in order to display a proper date. For example: =DATE(C2,A2,B2) combines the year from cell C2, the month from cell A2, and the day from cell B2 and puts them into one cell as a date. The example below shows the final result in cell D2.
Creating a custom date format in Excel In an Excel sheet, select the cells you want to format. Press Ctrl+1 to open the Format Cells dialog. On the Number tab, select Custom from the Category list and type the date format you want in the Type box. Click OK to save the changes.
Replacing Dates in Excel Using the Find and Replace Function Press the Ctrl + H keys on your keyboard to open the Find and Replace dialog box. In the Find what field, enter the date that you want to replace. In the Replace with field, enter the new date. Click on the Replace All button.
