Can I amend a contract after signing? Yes, a contract can be amended after signing if all the parties involved in a contract agree to do so.
What Is Novation? Novation is the replacement of one of the parties in an agreement between two parties, with the consent of all three parties involved. To novate is to replace an old obligation with a new one.
You can handwrite minor modifications to a contract onto the document. Clearly write the changes, and sign your initials next to each change, before signing the entire document. If the other party agrees to the changes, the other party will also initial the changes and sign the document.
The Parties acknowledge that the Prior Agreement is hereby replaced in its entirety by this Agreement. Pursuant to Article 12 of the Prior Agreement, this Agreement shall be effective, and the Prior Agreement shall be terminated, upon the execution of this Agreement by the Parties.
If a contract has already been produced but has an error, one of the parties may hand write a change on the document. As long as all involved parties initial next to the handwritten change, it will be considered a legally binding modification.

Amendments can be made for a variety of reasons, including to add or remove clauses, to change the effective date, or to update contact information. To amend a contract, both parties must agree to the changes and sign off on the amended agreement.
