Locking a Module makes it so that students can see the items in the module, but when they click on an item (i.e. file, assignment, discussion, etc.) the item page will say that the item is locked until the date you set. No specific content information or engagement is available in items that are in a locked Module.
Click a course card to access that course. Click Grades in the Course Navigation Menu. Locate the student name and assignment where you want to change the status. Click the Gradebook cell, and click the Grade Detail Tray icon. The Status section of the Grade Detail Tray displays available status options.
You may use the Excuse/Include Grade option to exclude or include a grade from a students course grade calculation. For example, if a student received a 0 for attendance on a day when they were sick, you could excuse the grade.
TEACHER VIEWS Instructors can view the status of a students assignment submission in the Canvas Gradebook. The score column displays a submission icon for successful uploads, an Upload Failed icon for failed uploads, and an Uploading icon for queued submissions.
Excuse students from an activity Items with an EX score will reduce that students Maximum total score by that activitys maximum score. The course percentage will be calculated on the reduced Maximum total.
