And then were gonna get into the fun part, which is how can we customize the comment background and how we can use icons as our comments. Just a note, Microsoft recently announced a new feature called Threaded comments. This means you can reply to one another in Excel, and you can keep track of it, and they still kept the existing comment feature though, thankfully. But this resulted in a change in feature names. So, what me and you know as an Excel comment is gonna be called an Excel note. The new comments have a Reply box, which is actually another great feature of Office 365. So, in this video, Ill be talking about what will be known as notes in the future, and comments for now. So, lets jump in. By default, a ticket will display a text field for Additional Comments. Clicking the Work Log checkbox will toggle the text field to Work Notes. If you prefer seeing two separate text fields for Additional Comments and Work Notes, click the Show All Journal Fields icon .
By default, the Work notes field can be updated only by users with the itil role, whereas the Additional comments field can be updated by any users.
The Work Notes List feature is available on Incidents. Users added to the Work Notes List will receive email updates when the tickets Work Notes field is updated, as well as when the state changes (i.e. upon closure). The Work Notes List is useful for: Collaborating with other fulfillers.
Users can list edit the Comments and Work notes field for task and extended tables.
Additional comments is provided for communication with the requester. Often, they are progress updates, giving the requester insight into how the work is going. They are made available to everyone. Work notes is targeted at notes for fulfillers.
In the Go To Special dialog box, click Comments, and then click OK. This will select all of the cells that contain comments. Once the cells with comments are selected, you can use the Find and Replace feature to search for and replace text within the comments.
