When you right-click on the check-box control and open the Format Control dialog box, you can set the Value section to the initial state you want the check box to display. For an initial value of True, you would set Value to Checked; for False, you would choose Unchecked.
Checkbox is an input field representing a binary choice. Checkbox Group is a group of related binary choices.
To delete all checkboxes at a time, go to the Home tab Editing group Find Select Go To Special, select the Objects radio button, and click OK. This will select all the check boxes on the active sheet, and you simply press the Delete key to remove them.
This is available in editing section in the Home tab from the excel ribbon. After selection is finished hit select Objects again to disable this feature. Now, right click on the check boxes and Select Group and from the sub menu select Group. Make sure that the controls are well aligned to each other.
1. Select the cells with the words of True/False you need to hide, then press Ctrl + 1 keys simultaneously to open the Format Cells dialog box. 2. In the Format Cells dialog box, select Custom in the Category box under the Number tab, then enter three semicolon ;;; into the Type box, and finally click the OK button.
If you type the text True or False manually (the cells should be formatted as text in advance), you can change them to checkboxes with this formula =IF(D3=True,,). The checkbox marks will automatically change based on the return values of original formulas.
Select the cell you need to change its value (here I select A1), then enter formula =IF(C2,Test,) into the Formula Bar, and press the Enter key. See screenshot: Note: In the formula, C2 is the linked cell of the check box 1, Test is the value you need to display in cell A1 when the check box is checked.
In order to make a check box in Excel, you need to go to Developer Tab --- Controls --- Insert --- Form Controls --- Check Box. Now, click on the cell where you want to place the checkbox; you can position the checkbox by dragging it.
