So first of all, we are going to show you the basic SUBSTITUTE function and different ways that you can use it. Next, we will go over how the REPLACE function differs from the SUBSTITUTE function. And then finally, we will give you a few practical examples for using the SUBSTITUTE function. Also, we will have some additional training options for you at the end of this video, so stick around for that. So for our first example, we are going to use the basic SUBSTITUTE function. And what I am going to do is Im going to take all the spaces that are in cell A2 and replace them with dashes instead of spaces. So in order to do that, Im going to click in B2 and type =substitute with a left parentheses.
