3 Answers Open the Microsoft Word Template file (*.dotx) Edit it. Save it under another name. Close Microsoft Word. Delete the original and rename the new one to replace the original.
docx file is a Word document, while a . dotx file is a Word template. Both can be opened and edited in Microsoft Word, but a . dotx file opens as a new document to preserve the original template.
dotx is located in %APPDATA% + \Microsoft\Document Building Blocks*language**version* and is moved in an out this folder on language changes. In DocumentNew and DocumentOpen of MyMainTemplate.
Your file can be saved as a . dotx file within the Templates folder within your Microsoft Office profile.
To edit content: Start by updating the certificate title. Click inside the title box to edit. In the Home tab, you can find the current font style and size. Click on the font name to access a drop-down menu. Scroll down and choose your favorite font. You could also change the font size if youd like.
Next to File Format, click Microsoft Word template (.dotx), or, if your template contains macros, click Microsoft Word Macro-Enabled template. Click Save. Unless you select a different location, the template is saved in /Users/username/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates.
Go to C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates. Open the Normal template (Normal. dotm). Make any changes that you want to the fonts, margins, spacing, and other settings.
dotx is in a hidden system folder. If your Start menu has a search function searching for %APPDATA% will lead you toward the folder.
