[Music Intro] Hi, Im Devin Deen, Content Director here at projectmanager.com. Hi. Thank you for joining me in todays whiteboard session, where were going to talk about how to manage scope change on your project. Now, whats really important to remember is the best way to manage scope change is not to do it yourself. Get your entire project team to help you with that. What I find most effective in making that happen is actually getting that project team up to speed with the entire aspects of the project, in terms of what youre meant to deliver, so thats your scope of work; how youre meant to deliver it, which is like your approach; the key deliverables that you have to produce for the client and what those acceptance criteria are; as well as the time frames to deliver all the deliverables to that client. If your entire project team is 100% on board with what it is youre doing and the extent of it, then theyll be the ones who are best in place to detect any changes or potential

Queries are a better alternative to Calculated fields because they do not store the value in a table.
Conveniently, Tableau has an option called Replace References that allows you to swap one field out for another all in one shot. In this example, I demonstrate what happens when the data source changes. You could also apply this method when you simply want to swap out all existences of one field for another.
Under Parameters, right-click the parameter and select Show Parameter Control. From the Data pane, drag the calculated fields you created to the Columns and Rows shelves. From the Data pane, drag a measure to the view. In this example, Sales is placed on Label on the Marks card.
To replace field references Right-click (control-click on a Mac) the invalid field in the Data pane and then select Replace References. In the Replace References dialog box, select a field from the new data source that corresponds to the invalid field.
Right click on any dimension, measure or parameter in the Data pane and you will see the Replace References option. This will allow you to select a field that will replace any reference to the chosen column across your work.
Go to the sheet tab and select Data Replace Data Source. Note: You must have at least one field in the view to make the Replace Data Source option available. In the Replace Data Source dialog box, select the Current data source and the Replacement data source. When finished, click OK.
Right-click on the field to be replaced and select Replace References: A menu will appear that gives you the option of selecting what field to replace the old field with.
Click on the down arrow in the data pane and this time select Create Calculated Field. To make a parameter work in the views and dashboard globally, you need to bind it with the calculated field. To do this, call the parameter and write the logic for each date level aggregation to extract the specific datepart .
