Renew a Business License in Maryland The Maryland traders license, which is valid for one year, runs from May 1 through April 30 of the following year. To process the renewal of your Maryland Business License, youll have to report to the local Clerk of the Court Office in the county where your firm is registered.
Maryland trade name applications can be submitted by mail, in person, or online. The filing fee is $25 for regular processing, which takes up to 4 weeks. You can pay an additional $50 for expedited service within 10 business days.

To revive or reinstate your Maryland LLC, youll need to submit the following to Marylands State Department of Assessments and Taxation, Charter Division: a completed Maryland Articles or Certificate of Reinstatement form. a tax clearance certificate issued by the city or county where your LLC owns property (if needed)
First, check your status - Is your business Active or in Good Standing? ❏ Look up your business status at businessexpress.maryland.gov (instructions on page 3). To return your business to Active or Good Standing Status: ❏ File Annual Reports Business Personal Property Returns due (instructions on page 4).
Forming an LLC in Maryland costs $100, but there are additional fees to consider. All Maryland LLCs must file an annual report and pay a $300 annual fee. If your LLC owns, leases or uses personal property in Maryland, you must also file a personal property tax return.
To modify your Maryland DBA, you must complete the Trade Name Amendment Application and submit it to the State Department of Assessments and Taxation. The fee for modifying your Maryland DBA is $25. If you wish to expedite the process, you can utilize the states expedited services for an additional $50.
An LLC name change in Maryland costs $100. This is the filing fee for the Articles of Amendment, the official form used to change your Maryland LLC name. If you file your name change online (for next-day approval time), it costs $150 for the expedited filing.
