hi everybody this is trademark attorney josh gerbin i have some news for you nike and kawhi leonard have filed documents with the federal district court in portland oregon stating that they have come to a settlement agreement in their year-long dispute over the ownership of kawhi leonards claw logo now this dispute started on june 3rd of 2019 when kawhi leonard filed a lawsuit against nike saying that he was the rightful owner of his claw logo that he claimed he developed while a nike endorser so when kawhi left nike to go to new balance he wanted to take the claw logo with him nike ended up counter claiming against kawhi claiming that oh no we actually came up with that logo you could see here is what kawhi provided us with and this is the logo we ended up on so we nike actually created this logo not to mention the fact that kawhi signed a contract expressly acknowledging that nike owned all the rights title and interest to any logos created during the term of his contract with nike
