-Based Authentication For details on structuring a SOAP request this way, see Request-Level Credentials. You generate a consumer key and secret when you create an integration record and configure the record to permit -based authentication (by checking the -based Authentication box).
It does not require you to use a specific type of security . Instead, it is extensible and supports multiple security formats to accommodate various authentication mechanisms. For example, a client might provide proof of identity and proof of a particular business certification.
Procedure In the Request window, select the Headers tab. Click + to add a header. The name of the header must be Authorization . Click OK. In the value box, type the word Basic plus the base64-encoded username : password . Use a base 64 encoder/decoder tool to create the base64 user:password string.
To add a new authorization: In the Authorization drop-down list, select Add New Authorization. In the subsequent Add Authorization dialog, select an authorization type. There are following authorization types supported: Basic. NTLM. SPNEGO/Kerberos. Click OK.
SOAP web services can use different methods to authenticate and authorize clients, such as HTTP Basic, HTTP Digest, WS-Security, or SAML. HTTP Basic and HTTP Digest are simple mechanisms that use the HTTP header to send the username and password of the client.
In the upper-right corner of any page on GitHub, click your profile photo, then click Settings. In the Access section of the sidebar, click Password and authentication. In Two-factor methods, find the method you want to modify. Next to that method, click Edit.
