Once you receive your certificate you will need to renew it every two years. To renew, you must pay a fee and submit documentation of continuing education. For information about the renewal process please visit the LFS renewal webpage.
4 Steps for How to Renew Your Phlebotomy License in California Complete continuing education hours. Over 24 months, you are expected to attend six hours of approved CE classes to stay up to date on your skills. Submit your online renewal application. Pay your renewal fee. Download and print your license.
Phlebotomists renewing their phlebotomy credentials must pay a $100 renewal fee as well as an initial fee of $100 when completing their application.
60 days after your expiration date, your license will be automatically forfeited and you would need to submit an application to reactivate your license.
You must do a few things in order to keep it current and valid. In the state of California, phlebotomy certifications expire after 2 years. You must complete six hours of continuing education credits, or CECs. This can be in the form of a phlebotomy class at a certified institute.
Online. Filing a complaint through the California Health Facilities Information Database (Cal Health Find) is the most direct way. You file the complaint and it is routed directly to the district office that has oversight authority for the facility in question.
