Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. On todays episode lets look at a new feature in Pages that allows you to rearrange things in your document using Sections. So Apple recently released new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. There are a lot of small new features in these. Im going to look at one today. Im using Pages version 5.6 and Im just going to create a new blank document. In the past I could certainly look at the page thumbnails here on the left and see what pages Ive done but I couldnt really rearrange them. They are basically a way for me to jump from page to page. Now, with Pages 5.6, I can actually rearrange them in a way that you might do say if you were writing a story and you want to have sections that you rearrange or perhaps a script or perhaps notes for class. Things like that and you kind of want to rearrange sheets of paper. You can do that using Sections. So lets start off by just creating a bunch of pages that may have some notes on them. To move a page within the same space: Go to the page you want to move. Select Move. Use the Browse tab if you need look at the page tree to find the new parent page for your content. Use the Search tab to choose the exact parent page. Select Move after youve chosen the new parent page.
In Confluence, you can now drag and drop items within the page tree to move them around, which makes it easy to put pages in the right place as soon as you create them (or set things right if you notice a page out of place).
Reorder pages within a space Go to the space home and expand the sidebar to locate the page tree. Expand the branches to locate the page you want to move. Drag the page to a new position in the tree.
Click and drag to move page You can also move a page by clicking the page on the page sorter and dragging it to a new location on the page sorter.
Place your cursor at the beginning of the page that you want to move, hold the shift key and press page down. Press Control + X to cut the text block and move your cursor to the new placement and press Control + V to move the page to its new location.
