hello everyone this is aida golami from agrimatsup research company and in todays video im going to teach you how to delete a specific text from a cell in excel so as you can see here i have some text and lets say i want to delete something specific from them so i dont want them to be a whole um to be fully deleted and i just want to make some specific edits on them so the easiest and the first uh way um is to go to find and select option in editing um segment in home tab okay so i click on that and go to replace and then so lets say i want to delete this smith from william smith cell okay so find what smith its already written in my window and um so you you will you will have this one because i i was recording before this film it was written so im going to write smith okay and replace with i dont want it to be replaced with anything id want it to be replaced with a free space so its smacked and replaced with nothing so there is there is nothing to be replaced with i press re

Turn the display of formatting marks on or off Go to Word Preferences View. Under Show Non-Printing Characters, select the check box for each formatting mark that you always want to display regardless if the Show/Hide. button is turned on or off. Clear any check boxes for ones you dont want always displayed.

Press Ctrl + H to open the Find and Replace dialog. In the Find what box, enter one of the following combinations: To eliminate text before a given character, type the character preceded by an asterisk (*char). To remove text after a certain character, type the character followed by an asterisk (char*).
Ctrl-D deletes all characters to the right of the cursor (including the character under it). This is called `Delete to end of line.
[Ctrl]+[Delete] Pressing [Delete] removes the characters to the right of the insertion point, one character at a time. To delete several characters to the right, at once, press [Ctrl]+[Delete]. This combo deletes all the characters to the right of the insertion point in the current word.
