How to Write a Receipt for Rent Payment The date of the payment. The rental period the payment is for. Which rental property is the payment for. The tenants full name. Who received the payment. The property address. The payment amount. The method of payment.
The rent receipt states that the rent payment has been made. If a partial payment was made it will also outline any rent still owed, and any late fees that might be applied, as stipulated in the lease. In its most basic form though, a rent receipt is simply an acknowledgement of a rent payment made by a tenant.
If you dont have a booklet on hand, you can simply handwrite receipts on a piece of paper and photocopy them. Make sure that the carbon paper is between the original and the copy before starting to write a receipt.
Rent Receipts provide a formal record of the rent tenants have paid (or not paid) for a rental period, to help landlords and tenants avoid any future disputes. For the avoidance of doubt, references to tenants also apply to contract holders unless otherwise specified.
The yellow copy is to stay in the office receipt book and to be retained in the receipting office. Exception If a mistake is made while writing receipt it may be voided. Mark the receipt VOID and retain the original white copy in the receipt book along with the yellow copy.

Therefore, tenants must collect the rent receipt from the landlord and submit it to the employer to avoid any TDS deduction at a higher rate.
A completed rent receipt should include the date of payment, the amount paid, the tenant name, and the tenants signature. Its important to keep accurate and up-to-date records of all rental income and expenses.
