The tin oxide is electrolytically removed by either reducing the tin oxide to tin metal and then dissolving the tin, or creating a bubble of hydrogen gas at the coater surface/tin oxide interface. Pressure of the hydrogen gas forces the tin oxide to break away from the coater at the coater surface/tin oxide interface.
Obviously, if antimony from the high-antimony lead melts can be converted into antimony trioxide, antimony can be efficiently removed from the high-antimony lead melts. Because antimony has a higher affinity with oxygen than lead, it can react with lead oxide to be converted into antimony trioxide with good volatility.
Solder is an alloy of tin and lead used to create electrical joints.

Either use an anodic electrolytic alkaline stripper (10% NaOH 25 C) or a chemical dip. The chemical dip can be either 50 g/l in 100 ml/l H2SO4 or 80 g/l FeCl3 in 156 ml/l glacial acetic acid with 125 g/l copper sulphate.
The simplest way to strip tin from steel is to use 80 g/l sodium hydroxide at about 85 C. This is the way tin is commercially stripped from tinplate. Tin is an amphoteric metal and will dissolve in acid and alkali, but steel doesnt react with alkali, so you will have no problems here.
Tin can be removed from copper and copper alloys in a solution of sodium hydroxide (120 g/l ), room temp.
A method is described for the quantitative separation of copper and lead from tin by cathodic deposition from phosphoric acid solution. The tin forms an anionic complex that is not reduced at the cathode and the copper is separated from the lead by deposition at a controlled potential.
Removal of tin is conventionally effected on a batch basis by providing a pool of molten lead at about 500C, stirring in air and possibly also chlorine until sufficient oxidation has taken place, then allowing the pool to settle and removing a layer of dross from the surface.
The results showed that the optimum separation of lead from tin can be achieved using 4.0 mol/L nitric acid at a slurry density of 100 g/L and temperature of 55 C, wherein 99.78% of lead were dissolved, while 99.96% and 93.25% of tin and iron were separated in the residue after 24 h.
