Delete a message in a chat Select a message More options () Delete. Note: You can only delete a message youve sent, and anyone in the chat will see that youve deleted it.
At the top of your screen, there are a few options that allow you to control your meeting. To disable the chat function, you need to select the more actions menu (). When the drop-down menu appears, select Meeting options. To turn off the chat feature, change the Allow meeting chat option from enabled to disabled.
If you dont have the Delete message option when you right-click a chat message, it has been turned off by your administrator. Microsoft, by default, turns this setting on for all users. If you are the administrator, you need to toggle Delete chat to on in the Messaging policies section of the Teams admin center.
Delete a chat thread in Teams From Chat on the left side of Teams, go to the chat you want to delete and select More options. Delete Chat. Select Delete. Once youve selected Delete, the chat will be permanently removed from your chat list and conversation history will be deleted.
Once a message has been deleted, users will see a Message has been deleted note in place of the original message. It is possible to clear the conversation history in a conversation with another user.
Hide, search, or unhide a chat On the chat you want to hide, select More options () Hide. The chat will be hidden until someone posts a new message in it. Use Search and type a word or phrase to find a hidden chat. To unhide a chat, go to the restored chat, select More options () Unhide.
Your employer can see when you send a message on a channel and the contents of those messages. The contents of a chat you deleted are also visible. So, be careful not to say anything malicious or unethical, because your employer will have a record of it.
The meeting chat window opens to the right of the main screen. Youll have the same options as other chats in Teams, so you can format your text, send pictures and GIFs, use emojis, attach files, and so on.
