As either the babys father or the partner of the mother, youre entitled to one or two weeks of paternity leave. With either option, this leave must be taken in one go, and a week is your working week.

The Defense Department issued a new policy to provide 12 weeks of paid, non-chargeable parental leave to service members who have a child through birth, adoption or a long-term foster care placement of at least 24 months.
The expansion was made in ance with DTM 23-001 and the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022, builds on the Departments support of military families and Service members by streamlining and enhancing the parental leave benefit for Service members.
Youre only entitled to paternity leave if youre an employee. You might be an employee even if your employer or your contract says youre self-employed. You might not be an employee if for example you work for an agency or youre not guaranteed to get any work.
Your partner must apply to their own employer. You must give your employer notice in writing if you want to start Shared Parental Leave or Pay.
Parental Leave: The Department of Air Force grants 12 weeks of Parental Leave following a qualifying birth event, long-term foster care placement or adoption. All leave must be used within one year of the qualifying event.
For non-birth parents, only the first general in the chain of command can forbid parental leave. Non-birth parents include fathers, adoptive parents or soldiers who used a surrogate.
