An oil-based stain will darken the stone and normally must be chemically dissolved so the source of the stain can be flushed or rinsed away. Clean gently with a soft, liquid cleanser with bleach OR household detergent OR ammonia OR mineral spirits OR acetone.
The short answer is unfortunately no, not all stains can be removed, and here are three reasons why. The longer a stain is left untreated, the less likely it is to be removed.
Use a 1/2 cup of any of the following: ammonia, bleach, or hydrogen peroxide and a gallon of water. Reminder: do not mix bleach and ammonia. On light colored stones, clean with bleach or hydrogen peroxide. On dark colored stones, clean with lacquer thinner or acetone.

Douse the stain with white vinegar, then apply a paste made of equal parts baking soda and vinegar. If this doesnt work, immerse the item overnight in a bucket of water containing a few tablespoons of detergent and vinegar. Rinse and wash the following morning.
Be sure to use a soft brush on porous or marble tile so it wont scratch the surface. You can also make a paste of two parts baking soda mixed with one part water. Apply the paste to the stain, let it stay overnight, and then scrub the stain with a soft nylon brush. Rinse the area with hot water when youve finished.
Diluted Muriatic Acid Mix one part of muriatic acid into 10 parts of water. Pour the solution over the discolored flagstone. Use a soft bristled brush to gently scrub the stones. Thoroughly rinse the acid solution off the stones.
Dilute 1/2 cup of bleach with 2 1/2 cups of warm water. Place protective gloves over your hands. Dip a medium- to hard-bristled scrubbing brush into the bleach mixture. Rub into the stains. Allow the bleach to work into any stains for 15 minutes. Use a hose to rinse the bleach from the pavers.
The simplest answer is no, it is best to avoid bleach when cleaning any type of natural stone. Many home cleaning products, particularly bleach and vinegar, are too harsh or acidic to be on natural stone. These cleaners strip down the stone and leave it in a weak, damaged state.
For organic stains, combine 12% hydrogen peroxide OR acetone with a powdered poultice material. Oil-based stains can typically be removed using a poultice of baking soda and water. To remove ink stains from light colored stone, use hydrogen peroxide OR bleach; for dark stones, use acetone OR lacquer thinner.
