Right-click the Start or Windows button. Select the Control Panel. Select the Devices and Printers. Right-click on Microsoft XPS Document Writer and select Set as Default Printer.
Open the Settings app (using the Windows Key + I shortcut if you like). Select Devices Printers scanners. Find Microsoft XPS Document Writer in the list. Click it, then choose Remove device.
The XPS format is similar to PDF because both file types are designed to show the final appearance of a document and provide information for printing. However, XPS files are written in a different programming language.
3. Scroll down through the list of Windows features until you can see the XPS Services feature option. Click the checkbox next to the XPS Services feature option to remove the checkmark.
Add or Remove XPS Viewer App in Settings Click on Start Settings Apps. Click on Optional features. Click on Add a feature. To remove XPS Viewer, scroll down and click on XPS Viewer, and click Uninstall.
The Drop Down menu in Office 365 should now display all of your Devices and Printers.This is a straightforward Windows procedure: From the Start screen, search for Printers. Click on Devices and Printers. Select the printer you want to set as your default and right-click on it. Choose Set as default printer.
Type Windows Features into the Start Menu and open Turn Windows features on or off. Find Microsoft XPS Document Writer in the list of features and uncheck its box. You can also uncheck XPS Viewer to remove the program that opens XPS files. Click OK and Windows will process the removal.
The Microsoft XPS Document Writer (MXDW) is a print-to-file driver that enables a Windows application to create XML Paper Specification (XPS) document files on versions of Windows starting with Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2).
Making printer default settings - the printer properties On the [Start] menu, point to [Settings], and then click [Printers]. The [Printers] window appears. Click the icon of the printer you want to use. On the [File] menu, click [Properties]. Make the settings you require, and then click [OK].
In Windows 10, version 1709 and earlier versions, the app is included in the installation image. If you have XPS Viewer and you update to Windows 10, version 1803, theres no action required. Youll still have XPS Viewer.
