alright guys in todays video were going to be looking at a think pad T 410 that has a supervisor password and were gonna show how to remove it you may be asking what is a supervisor password so as many of you probably know the majority of thinkpads are purchased either by large companies businesses schools or government organizations as such these systems need a little bit more security than your average computer and this is where things like BIOS passwords fingerprint readers and that kind of stuff come in really handy think pads traditionally have two types of startup passwords a bios password and a supervisor password a bios password is pretty easy to get rid of if you unplug the system remove the battery take out the CMOS battery and just let the system drain any residual charge for a few minutes you can remove the startup password but since these things need some extra security supervisor passwords are a thing these cannot be removed even by clearing the CMOS so getting rid of

BIOS passwords cannot be recovered. If you have forgotten one of the passwords that is set in the BIOS, resetting the CMOS or NVRAM helps reset the BIOS to factory default settings and remove the passwords from the BIOS. WARNING: Clearing the CMOS or NVRAM using a jumper resets the passwords in the BIOS.
If you forget your supervisor password, Lenovo cannot reset your password. You must take your computer to a Lenovo Service Provider to have the system board replaced.
Open the UEFI/BIOS setup utility. Select Security. To change or remove master password, select Change Master Password and press Enter. Note: If you remove the master hard disk password, the user hard disk password is also removed.
Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cable from the computer. Locate the password reset jumper (PSWD) on the system board. Remove the jumper plug from the password jumper-pins. Power on without the jumper plug to clear the password.
The difference between them is that if the Supervisor password is set, it must be entered in order to change system settings. Exactly which settings require the Supervisor password permission varies from model to model. Knowing the Supervisor password makes it possible to change the BIOS password, without knowing it.
The supervisor password overrides the power-on password. The system management password can also protect the system information stored in UEFI BIOS like a supervisor password, but it has lower authority by default.
F2 Key BIOS Password removing procedure Starting with the computer fully off, turn it on by pressing and releasing the power button. Enter the correct password, press the Enter key. The BIOS setup program will appear. Using the arrow keys, move to the Security tab, and to Set User Password.
During the restart, hold Shift while hitting B until the boot management menu loads. Press shift-B for boot menu or shift-R for recovery mode: . Please choose your menu option: Type P to select Reset the Network Administrator (admin) password.
