FAR Part 15 describes the procedures for competitive and non-competitive open market acquisitions exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). Through the use of the competitive proposal solicitation form, the government solicits offers from prospective contractors. After the receipt of such offers, the procedure permits bargaining, and usually affords an opportunity for offerors to revise their offers before award of the contract.
The purpose of these simplified procedures is to vest contracting officers with additional procedural discretion and flexibility, so that commercial item acquisitions in this dollar range may be solicited, offered, evaluated, and awarded in a simplified manner that maximizes efficiency and economy and minimizes burden
To remove a solicit code thats no longer in use: Under Solicit codes on the record of the constituent, select Edit. Select Delete for the solicit code to remove. Select Save.
